About Silky Hart
Silky Hart is a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist and holds a bachelor's degree in Modern Dance from Texas Christian University and a master's degree in International Business from Thunderbird. Her post graduate studies include coursework in Dance Therapy, Conflict Resolution, Playback Theater and Arts in Healthcare at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.

For more than 15 years, Silky has taught workshops and classes in creative expression. She created and launched an afternoon school program, Peace Power: Creative Alternatives to Violence. She has led expressive arts groups for adults in treatment for addictions. 

Silky has taught continuing education classes in creativity at SMU, TCU and the Unity Church of Dallas plus she has been a guest teacher in the dance departments of Sweet Briar College, TCU and TWU. She has also taught expressive arts classes at Lake Austin Spa Resort and Red Mountain Spa. In 1996, Silky co-founded the Dance for the Planet festival in Dallas, Texas. 

Silky believes in the power of the arts to restore physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Presently, she leads expressive arts classes for people with cancer at Gilda's Club of North Texas. Silky also facilitates sessions in creative expression including art, writing and creative movement for A.R.T.S. for People in a variety of settings such as schools, shelters and in healthcare settings. At Mayhill Hospital in Denton, Silky leads ongoing expressive arts sessions in the Psychiatric and Rehabilitative Units.
